The Avaya 6400 Series Digital Voice Telephones deliver the right combination of business communication functionality. Usability features are readily available. For example, you can personalize your phone by programming the buttons on your telephone simply by choosing from a selection of convenient features.
There are a variety of 6400 Series models that can meet your specific requirements and deliver exceptional benefits to your business. Each 6400 telephone is available in white or gray, and has four fixed-feature buttons: Conference, Transfer, Hold, and Last Number Dialed. Other buttons include Speakerphone, Mute, and Volume. These globalized telephones provide easy to-use features with ICON feature buttons and English labeling. Most models also have flexible feature buttons and four "navigator" keys indicating Menu, Next, Previous, and Exit, as well as four softkeys for controlling display functions. The 2-line by 24-character display, available with most models, shows the date and time when the telephone is idle.
The 6400 Digital Telephones also improve productivity and allow for one-touch operation with headsets—so you can answer, hang up, and dial without having to pick up the handset. The 6416D+M and 6424D+M models include a built-in headset jack, eliminating the need for headset adapters and, in turn, reducing costs and eliminating desktop clutter.

IP Soft Console puts more power and control at an attendant's fingertips. With its ability to search internal and external directories, place a caller's e-mail address into an e-mail application and display detailed caller information on up to six calls simultaneously, it supports IP and Digital Communication Protocol (DCP) connectivity to Avaya communications servers to give our customers a choice of solutions that meets their needs.
Avaya Softconsole is the only Communication Manager IP attendant console offering. IP connectivity is available in both a voice over IP (VoIP) configuration and a dual connection configuration for full quality audio. The IP version requires Avaya Communication Manager Software or Avaya Call Processing software Release 10 or later, and the DCP version requires Avaya Call Processing software Release 9.5 or later software versions.
The Softconsole solution improves the attendant's experience by delivering a new and intuitive graphical user interface (GUI), comprehensive setup wizards, e-mail integration and enhanced directory capabilities. The GUI features directory information, Direct Extensions Select/Busy Lamp Fields (DXS/BLF), user movable tool bars and six call appearances. Attendants can speed and simplify call handling by arranging the screen to meet their needs and by dialing from the DXS/BLF component, directory lookups, feature buttons, or manually from the keyboard.
The IP Softphone makes it easy to place and receive phone calls from your laptop or PC through its simple Graphical User Interface (GUI) and integration with Microsoft Outlook contact lists and other directories. TheIP Softphone integrates a flexible IP telephone client with a SIP/SIMPLE based Instant Messaging (IM) client. It incorporates a contact list of other IP Softphone users and makes both phone and IM presence visible to other users. It is simple to toggle between the softphone and IM applications. The IM and presence capabilities require registering with the Avaya Converged Communications Server, which is available separately.
