The reputation of Kentrox was built on its Data Service Unit/Channel Service Unit (DSU/CSU) product line. The company pioneered multi-service access concentrator technology in 1993, which was used in a successful line of AAC™ products that connect voice, video and data traffic with public ATM services and private WANs.

Juniper Networks

Juniper Networks partners with Avaya to offer solutions based security technology enabling businesses to offer high quality and reliable IP telephony without compromising the security of the network. Their expanding portfolio of products and solutions helps to meet the changing needs of securing and assuring IP networks.

Juniper Networks security operating system, ScreenOS, includes Application Layer Gateways (ALGs) that work with the Avaya H.323 voice protocol. The ALG dynamically opens and closes firewall ports to allow both incoming and outgoing to enter and leave the network. The Juniper Networks security solution works in a Network Address Translation (NAT) environment, utilizing private IP addresses which complicate the process of receiving incoming calls. The joint solution enables users to receive incoming calls through a NAT network, while keeping the network secure. Other solutions do not have this capability and require a third party device to perform this function - increasing both cost and complexity. The Juniper Networks security solution also incorporates high availability mechanisms. These mechanisms ensure voice communications are available, even when unexpected network events occur.
